Pioneer Plaza

Comp5.jpg

Pioneer Park is a cultural landmark where Dallas’ earliest history, its most iconic public art and its largest downtown green space come together. The site encompasses Pioneer Cemetery — the resting place of many of Dallas’ founders — and Pioneer Plaza, home to the famed “Trail Drive” sculptures by Texas artist Robert Summers. The reimagined Pioneer Park will honor the city’s beginnings while creating a vibrant, welcoming destination that connects history, art and community in the heart of a rapidly transforming convention and entertainment district.

Purpose

Pioneer Park and Cemetery serves as a vital historic anchor for Dallas — a rich link between the city’s past and its evolving downtown environment.

Significance

As the No.2-most-visited location in downtown, Pioneer Park serves as both a cultural touchstone and a connection to Dallas’ past.

Enhancements

Improved pathways, upgraded lighting, refreshed landscaping and new visitor amenities.

Programming

Built on the concept of a vibrant community space, featuring gathering areas and flexible spaces for cultural, educational and recreational activities.
